It is mandated to impart education to the students in the field of agriculture, research advancement and extension of agrotechnology to the farmers. Dr. Ummed Singh is a Distinguished University Professor of Agronomy and University Head of Department of Agronomy of Agriculture University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. Prof. Ummed Singh obtained BSc (Honours) Agriculture (1998) and MSc (Ag) Agronomy (2000) from Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner; Ph.D. Agronomy (2005) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi; and Post Doctorate (2011) from Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, P R China. Prof. Singh has served as Assistant Professor-cum-Jr Scientist (2005-2012) at SKUAST-K, Srinagar; Senior Scientist (2012-18) and Principal Scientist (2018) at ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur; Dean, College of Agriculture, Jodhpur (2018-19), Director, Directorate of Prioritization, Monitoring & Evaluation, Agriculture University, Jodhpur (2020-21). Prof. Singh has made outstanding research contributions in the field of Biofortification, Cropping Systems Research, and Plant Nutrition. He has handled and concluded 23 in-house research projects and 6 externally funded projects in the capacity of PI and Co-PI/Nodal officer. He has delivered 118 invited lectures in trainings/refresher courses/conferences, 27 TV/Radio talks, organized 16 trainings/winter/summer schools/workshop for Scientists/Teachers, participated in 66 national/international conferences, symposia, webinar, seminar, workshops and have attended 19 summer/winter schools/short trainings.
He has published 65 research papers, 13 review papers, 18 proceedings/lead Paper, 12 technical bulletin/training manuals, 3 extension folders, 30 book chapters, 2 books, 1 conference souvenir, 1 annual report, 2 knowledge papers, 44 compendium chapters, 27 conferences/symposia/seminar papers, 65 popular articles, 17 extended summaries, and 45 abstracts. As a distinguished academician, he is teaching advance courses of Agronomy to the students of Ph.D. (Agronomy), MSc (Ag) Agronomy, and BSc (Hons) Agriculture, and guiding Ph.D. (Agronomy) and MSc (Ag) Agronomy students. He is and has been a life membership of 15 Scientific/Professional Societies, a reviewer of 25 journals, editor of 9 journals.

Prof. Singh was conferred SHRIRAM PURUSKAR (2019–20), GKV Society Fellow (2018), Distinguished Scientist Award (2017), ISPRD Fellow (2016), Reviewer Excellence Award (2016), Indian Society of Agronomy Associateship (2015), SERS Fellow (2015), Innovative Scientist of the Year (2014), SHRIRAM PURUSKAR (2013-14), IMPHOS-FAI Award (2013), Chinese Government Scholarship (2009-11), Best Oral Presentations, Best Poster Presentations, etc.  Prof. Singh is having international exposure and has been visited the countries viz; P R China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.

About Agriculture Engineering
Agricultural engineering is the field of study and application of engineering science and design innovations that takes a strongly multidisciplinary approach to resolve agricultural problems. It is a key discipline for sustainable agriculture to deliver global food security. With the advancement of agriculture, Agricultural Engineering education has also been gradually developed and taken a definite shape through inclusion of theoretical as well as practical courses in multidirectional fields. Agricultural engineering integrates engineering and agricultural science knowledge and skill to develop technology and process to raise production and productivity of agriculture through efficient utilization of natural resources and conserving the same for future use. It dynamically addresses issues relevant to social and technological development of the country.
B. Tech Agri Engg. Course
B. Tech. in Agriculture Engineering (Agri. Engg.) is a 4-year undergraduate program, which is fully residential. The 4 year period is divided into 8 semesters each of 6 months duration. In each semester, students have to face different sets of theoretical subjects as well as practical and lab sessions. Agricultural Engineering program combines the concepts and techniques of agriculture, modern technology and engineering practices. It can be said that the program is an amalgamation of more than one discipline viz. plant/agriculture sciences, environment science, core engineering branches (civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer), modern agricultural technology etc.
Agricultural Engineering embraces the following five major disciplines:

  1. Farm Machinery and Power Engineering (FMPE)
  2. Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering (APFE)
  3. Soil and Water Conservation Engineering (SWCE)
  4. Irrigation and Drainage Engineering (IDE)
  5. Renewable Energy Engineering (REE)

He born in 07.03.1976 in a small village Poothpura, district Dhoulpur, Rajasthan.  He is working as Assistant Professor (Extension Education), in Agriculture University Jodhpur, since July, 2013.   He obtained B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture degree from SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner and     M. Sc.  & Ph. D.  degree in the discipline of  Dairy Extension  Education from  National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal (Haryana). He awarded through JRF and SRF fellowship by ICAR, during Master’s and Doctoral degree respectively.He served BAIF Development Research Foundation, as Thematic Program Executive in the arid parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat for six and half Year.   He is teaching undergraduate students of B. Sc. (Hons) Agriculture from 2013 and having three and half year experience in teaching at CoA Sumerpur and Mandor. He contributed in the publication of 2 books s as co-author and wrote 7 chapters in different books.He presented 3 radio talks on All India Radio and 2 television talks on Drishiti Desert TV Channels. He published 1 RAWE manual, 40 popular articles, 5 case story, 8 research papers and 2 interviews in various newspapers. He is Life Member in Indian Society of Extension Professional, Karnal, Haryana, Member in Society of Extension Education, Agra, UP, Life Member in Rajasthan Society of Extension, Udaipur, Rajasthan and editor  in popular and kisaan kheti. The college of agriculture was established on 31st July, 2012 as a constituent college of Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner. After declaration of Agriculture University, Jodhpur, as separate university, it is now under jurisdiction of Agriculture University, Jodhpur since 14th September, 2013. At the set up stage, the teaching work was completely carried out by ARS faculties. However, after requirement of teachers for few disciplines (4) in 2013, teaching in rest of subjects is now carried out by ARS and guest faculties.

Born on 01-10-1965 at village – Bhagwatpura, Jobner, Jaipur, Dr. Kumhar obtained his Ph. D., M. Sc. and B. Sc. (Ag.) degree from SKRAU, Bikaner. He started his career as Assistant Professor in 1996 from ARS, Umedganj Kota, then promoted as Associated Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2012. He has worked on breeding work of soybean, linseed, pearl millet, isabgol and sesame and actively involved in development of varieties viz., RL 914 and RLU 6 of linseed, RI 1 of isabgol, MBC 2 of pearl millet and RT 346 and RT 351 of sesame. Presently he is holding the post of ZDR, ARS, Mandor in addition to ADR (Seeds) of AU, Jodhpur. He has published more than 50 research papers, booklets, popular articles and book chapters and he is member of prestigious scientific societies in India. He is also Professor Member of Board of Management of AU, Jodhpur for two years (2016-18).
